CSvD (@Census) is planning an extended downtime to migrate NSF01 storage to the new SAN.

The currently planned activities start on April 10, 2009 with a incremental backup of /mixedtmp (/rdcprojects is backed up daily). During this time, /mixedtmp will be read-only. Other areas will remain accessible.

On the morning of April 13, 2009, the system will be brought down. The downtime will entail the loss of all data on /temporary filesystems. Please plan well ahead of the downtime to prevent any loss to your project-related data.

The downtime is expected to be completed by the afternoon of April 15, 2009. All areas except /mixedtmp will be accessible at this time.

/mixedtmp will be restored from backup after the system becomes available. Restoring this area might take up to 3 days. Once it is restored, it will become writeable again.

The 2009 Comparative Analysis of Enterprise (Micro) Data (CAED) Conference will be held from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, 2009, in Tokyo (see full post).

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, resource reallocation and adjustment costs, productivity, information and communication technology, R&D, market competition, exit and entry dynamics, transition and development, labor issues, environment, corporate governance, corporate finance, trade, and linked employer-employee analysis. Submissions should be either a full paper with an abstract of 400-600 words, including a description of the data used in the analysis, or an extended abstract of 800-1600 words. A strong preference will be given to full papers (even if preliminary or incomplete) using data from multiple countries and/or from Asian countries. Authors chosen to present papers at this conference will be notified by June 1, 2009.
