CU computing services brief downtime affecting VirtualRDC access Sunday Feb 15, 6-8AM

On Sunday, February 15, there will be network maintenance occurring between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. that will affect many central [Cornell] computing services.

For about 5 minutes, beginning at 6:00 a.m., many central computing services will be unavailable. Then there will be a period of intermittent issues as servers and services are checked and restarted if required.

Providing scientific software for use on openSUSE/SLES systems

We use a variety of software packages, many of which are open-source. The systems we manage and use are running openSUSE and SLES (9) versions of the Linux operating system. While much of the open-source software can simply be downloaded from the installation media provided by openSUSE/Novell, some of it is not in the standard package format. [More »]
