The 2007 Research Data Center Conference
will be held September 27, 2007 at Census Bureau Headquarters, Suitland,
MD (a suburb of Washington DC) and is hosted by the Center for Economic

All remaining server issues have been solved. All systems are back in production.

We upgraded the PDU in our rack. We still have some unrelated problem with VRDC3201 (SSB compute node) and VRDC6401 disks. We are working on it.

Full title: “LABOR MARKET FLOWS, PRODUCTIVITY AND WAGE DYNAMICS: IDEAS AND RESULTS FROM EMPIRICAL RESEARCH ON EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE LINKED LONGITUDINAL DATABASES”. The conference is organized by LABORatorio R. Revelli, Centre for Employment Studies, and will be held in Moncalieri (Torino) at Collegio Carlo Alberto on September 14 – 15, 2007.

The aim of the Conference is to stimulate and exchange ideas and empirical results in fields related to labor market flows, productivity, wage dynamics and rigidities, drawn from research on employer-employee linked longitudinal databases. It will be also an opportunity to present WHIP, the Work Histories Italian Panel, recently made available to the scientific community worldwide. Keynote speakers already committed include Dale T. Mortensen, Christopher Pissarides and John W. Haltiwanger.

You are invited to submit papers (even in provisional form) for this event before May 31, 2007. Papers should be submitted to <labor@laboratoriorevelli.it>. No abstracts will be considered for submission. A scientific committee will evaluate all submitted papers and acceptance decisions will be communicated before July 15, 2007.

We will be installing some new power equipment in the VirtualRDC computer racks, requiring a brief downtime Thursday Sep 13, 2007, after 18:00.

Maintenance completed on VRDC3203 and Repository. A filesystem is rebuilding on VRDC6401 – please refrain from using that node for now.

We are installing some additional hardware on VRDC3203 and repository. The servers will be briefly offline tonight between 20:00 and 21:00.

We have updated all OnTheMap data sets with the latest versions for each state. [More »]
