2007 Joint Statistical Meetingsto be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
JSM (the Joint Statistical Meetings) is the largest gathering of statisticians held in North America. It is held jointly with the American Statistical Association, the International Biometric Society (ENAR and WNAR), the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and the Statistical Society of Canada. Attended by over 5000 people, activities of the meeting include oral presentations, panel sessions, poster presentations, continuing education courses, exhibit hall (with state-of-the-art statistical products and opportunities), career placement service, society and section business meetings, committee meetings, social activities, and networking opportunities. Salt Lake City is the host city for JSM 2007 and offers a wide range of possibilities for sharing time with friends and colleagues. Three files in the OTM data for MN were corrupt. They have been replaced. Sorry for the delay.

The annual SAS license renewal has come and gone. We have updated SAS licenses on all 32-bit and 64-bit (Itanium) nodes. Please let us know if you encounter any problems.

We successfully upgraded NX server on VRDC3203 to the most recent version. NX connections were only briefly interrupted. Please let us know if you encounter any issues.

We are upgrading the NX server on VRDC3203 on Wednesday, July 11. The access through NX will be unavailable for 30 minutes, and all running NX sessions will be terminated. Basic SSH access will not be interrupted.

The VirtualRDC cluster is back up again, although individual systems may still be rebooted on Friday, July 6, if needed.

We are proceeding with a reorganization of the VirtualRDC server room. This will impact all compute nodes, web servers, etc. All servers will be offline during both days. Please let us know if this causes a problem.
