The 2006 Annual Meeting of the Population Association of America will be held March 30-April 1, 2006. Session 116 on Friday, March 31, 2006 is entitled “Panel on Census Research Data Centers.” The chair is Barry Edmonston. The panel includes John Abowd, William Frey, Joe Hotz, and Charles Tolbert.

Note that Cornell RDC server RDC10 will be down tomorrow morning briefly from about 6:15am until 7am. This will kill all of your jobs running on RDC10. [More »]

For a while, researchers at LEHD and CISER have been using methods that improve on Abowd, Kramarz, and Margolis (Econometrica, 1999) to compute high-dimensional person and firm effects. [More »]

The Association of American Geographers is excited to be holding its 2006 meeting in Chicago on March 7-11 2006, a city of world-class architecture, art, and music. The meeting will be held in the elegant Palmer House Hilton Hotel located in the heart of the Chicago Loop near the Art Institute of Chicago, Grant Park, Millennium Park, and the Navy Pier as well as the main thoroughfares of State Street and Michigan Avenue.
