Changing password while logged on
On Linux, there are multiple ways to change your password. Two will be
outlined here:
- Command line
- At a command line window, type 'passwd' and follow the prompts.
- Graphical tool
- You can change your password using a graphical
utility.
- To do
so, click on the green chameleon or the ``N'' (for
Novell) logo on your taskbar. Choose the ``Control Center'' (Figure 13) or
``Configure Desktop'' (Figure 14) from the menu.

results will be the control panel ``User Account'' or ``Password & User
Account''. Click on this item in the Results field.
- Choose the 'Change Password' button in the control panel that will
pop up, and follow the prompts.
