Functionality without a license may be limited or non-existent. For Stata, you can obtain a 30-day eval at http://www.stata.com/customerservice/borrow.html. RPM-packaged Java apps may sometimes be run directly from the providers' website:

R RPMs are compiled using gcc under ia64. Those that are signed with our GPG key are being actively used and tested in our environment. The others are provided here as a convenience only. You can check the signature of a RPM file with

 rpm --checksig RPMFILE
